Gjahade (C/R), April 12, GNA - The Women Fellowship of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church has present food items and toiletries estimated at GH¢ 4,000.00 to the Rafiki Methodist Village at Gjahade near Winneba.
The village is an orphanage established by the Methodist Church of Ghana.
The items presented included bags of rice, one maxi bag of maize, cartons of milk, crates of soft drinks, tins of tomato paste, gallons of cooking oil, biscuits, toffees and toiletries.
Speaking at a short ceremony to present the items to the village on behalf of the members of the Women Fellowship, Rev. Monica Godffried, Reverend Minister in-charge of Schools, Prisons and Hospitals Ministry of the Koforidua Diocese, urged the children of the village to be discipline to enable them grow up to become good citizens of the country.
She assured the children that the Women Fellowship would always support them in times of their needs.
The items were received on behalf of the Village by Very Rev. Isaac Nana Abekah, Director of the Village, who expressed his appreciation to the Women Fellowship for their regular donations to the Village.
He also expressed his appreciation to Mr Joseph Okai, a driver of the Koforidua Diocese, who was at the presentation for being the one who transported the first group of orphans and children who were being exploited in the Afram Plains to become the foundation members of the Village.
