Accra, April 9, GNA – An Accra Circuit Court on Monday granted bail to Daniel Kagya, a businessman in the sum of GH¢30,000.00 with two sureties for alleged possession of narcotic drugs without lawful authority.
The accused person would reappear on Monday, April 23.
Prosecuting, Superintendent of Police, Patience Mario told the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh that on March 16 this year at about 2345 hours, the Adenta District Police Command received intelligence that a drinking spot at Adenta Sakora had been turned into a ghetto for sale of narcotic drugs and a rendezvous for criminals.
She said the District Commander led three Patrol teams to the area, where the accused was arrested.
A search conducted at the drinking spot revealed one gallon of alcoholic concoction, seven large size of Voltic bottle of concoction suspected to have been laced with Indian hemp, 125 wraps and a quantity of plant materials all suspected to be narcotic drugs.
The Prosecution said the accused claimed ownership of the items and these were sealed in the presence of the accused and same has been sent to the Police forensic laboratory for examination and report.
