“Nigeria is better now. Terrorism has dropped. Economy improving so we need you all to visit home and contribute to the rapid development of our country,” he said.
Mr Abikoye said this when he interacted with members of the Volta Regional branch of the All Nigerian Community-Ghana, in Ho.
He said whilst they helped develop communities they reside in Ghana, it is important that they remember their roots so they do not returned home as strangers.
Mr Abikoye said checks at the Regional Police Headquarters showed that there was no criminal record against any Nigerian and commended them for being good ‘ambassadors’ in the region.
He urged the students to choose only accredited schools in Ghana and asked them to be each other’s keeper, work hard and raise the flags of Nigeria and Ghana high.
Mr Joshua Amadi, Volta Regional Chairman, All Nigerian Community-Ghana, expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the visit adding that irrespective of their ethnic and religious backgrounds, they were united and enjoying peace in Ghana.
He said a major concern for them was high school fees for Nigerian students in Ghana and appealed to the Ambassador to intervene.
There are about 5,000 Nigerians trading in the Volta Region.
