Odumase (E/R), Feb. 17, GNA - MTN Ghana has organised the Eastern Regional annual blood donation exercise at the Manya krobo Senior High School.
The annual exercises, held across all the regions is aimed at helping to stock the various blood banks to enhance healthcare delivery.
The MTN blood donation exercise, which began in 2011 and dubbed, ”Save a Life” is held every February and has been supportive of the regional blood banks since its inception.
The MTN Area Manager for Eastern and Volta Region, Mr David Woasey said, the exercise seeks to curb blood shortages at the various blood banks across the country.
He said the exercise is targeting 2,000 pints of blood annually to help patients in need of blood transfusion.
The Eastern Regional Blood Organiser, Ms Philomina Quayeson said, blood was very essential for the health facilities, and that, the exercise will help the facilities which often experiences blood shortage.
She appealed to the public, Churches, schools and Organisations to actively take part in the blood donation exercise to make it a success.
She expressed satisfaction about the turnout during the exercise, which she said was encouraging compared to other places they had already visited.
