Accra, Dec. 18, GNA - Global Transformational Agents Foundation (GloTAF), in collaboration with Scripture Union and Bible League, have donated Bibles, devotional materials and Christian literature worth over GH¢10,000.00 to inmates of the Senior Correctional Center (SCC) in Accra.
The three bodies donated 250 Bibles, 250 devotional guide and 250 Christian books from Legra Law Firm specifically for the Juvenile inmates of the SCC.
The presentation, which is under the Human Transformation Department of Global Transformational Department of GloTAF, is dubbed: "Transforming the Prisoner with God's Word".
Presenting the materials, Mr Micheal Adu-Carol, the Chief Executive Officer of GloTAF said: "Our main focus of embarking on this project is to raise these materials and place them in the hands of prisoners and Juvenile inmates to study and practice what the Word of God says in order to transform them and help in their reformation process.
"We as a Christian organization believes that, there is nothing too powerful to change the mind, heart and behavior of an individual than the Word of God," he said.
Mr Adu-Carol explained that, the Word of God was the hope of every person including inmates at the SCC adding that "This is why we are passionate and committed in embarking on this project."
He said the presentation, which was an annual affair, marks the second of such outreach the GloTAF was embarking on to reach out to the institution.
Mr Derek Koomson, the Chaplain of GloTAF, urged officials of SCC to ensure the proper use of the materials to allow the Spirit of God to help the inmates plan their lives, and even after serving their term.
Mrs Nana Adjoa Dsane, the Vice Chairperson of GloTAF, was optimistic that the materials when used extensively would change the lives of the inmates for them to be greater people in society.
GloTAF also presented a citation to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mrs Lydia Odoi-Yemoh, Head of Chaplaincy and Welfare Department of the SCC for her dedicated service in ensuring the spiritual nurture of the inmates for the past five years.
Receiving the presentation, Mrs Odoi-Yemoh, thanked the groups for the gesture saying that, it would go a long way to transform the lives of the inmates.
"It is our prayer that whatever good thing is in the book, in 2018 you shall never lack," she said.
GloTAF is a heatlth and sanitation, education, peace, advocacy and human transformation Christian non-governmental organization, focused on mobilizing and empowering the youth to be Christ-centered as a catalyst in promoting patriotism and volunteerism for societal transformation.
