He urged them to also identify the role they have to play in achieving the objectives of the programme.
Mr Asante-Apeatu (IGP) made the call in a speech delivered on his behalf by the Director-General of the service in charge of Administration at the closing ceremony of Senior Command Course six, at the Ghana Police Command and Staff College, (GPCSC) at Winneba.
The officers at the five week courses numbered 26 were Police Superintendents drawn from various divisions and units brings the total number of 685 senior police officers trained at the college since its inception in 2014.
The IGP said the transformation programme is anchored by the time-test core values of integrity to help transform the Police service to become a world class institution capable of delivering planned, democratic, proactive and peaceful servicers up to the standards of international best practices.
The participants were taken through series of lectures by resources personnel made up of, the academia, lawyers and media practitioners.
The course was to equip them with the requisite skills and competencies to discharge their duties in a more professional and efficient.
Mr Asante-Apeatu said they would go out to meet a public who would expect from them creative and innovative way of dealing with security threats as armed robberies, cybercrime, internet fraud, galamsey, vigilantism and mob justice among others.
The operational strategies you will deploy in dealing with these challenges must be underscored by the training you have just received, he said.
Mr Asante-Apeatu announced that the police administration is fully aware of the perils police officers often encounter in enforcing the law and in this respect the police administration has come out with insurance policy for its officers in the line of duty.
As senior officers you are required to engage your personnel on it with the view to fine-tune the policy, he said.
He thanked his Colleague Inspector General of Nigeria Police for sending his officers to Ghana to share their experience with their Ghanaian counterparts who attends courses at GPCSCW in the fight Boko Haram and the German Agency for International Cooperation for sponsoring their trips.
