Wa, May 5, GNA – Assembly Members in the Upper West Region have been urged to endorse all the nominated Metropolitan, Municipal and District chief executives to help accelerate development at the district levels.
In a statement signed and copied to the Ghana News Agency, Mr James Dugrah, a former Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is also a lecturer at the Wa Polytechnic said any delay in the endorsement of those nominations would lead to the retardation of the development at the district, regional and national levels.
He said it was not possible for everybody to be appointed as MMDCEs of their respective districts and called on the public to render their unflinching support to the President and his nominees for a peaceful and united society which was the bedrock of development.
“Our continuous support will help give President Akufo-Addo the needed peace of mind to roll out the good and well thought out and ambitious promises made to Ghanaians”, he explained.
He urged the people not to lose hope in rendering their sacrificial service to the NPP and the nation in the President Akufo-Addo’s led administration.
“The appointment of the MMDCEs does not cement the doors to other opportunities to serve the NPP and President Akufo-Addo led government and Ghana at large”, he said.
He also appealed to the appointment team of the Akufo-Addo led administration to be wary of the “latter day saints” and to appoint only the members of the party who had showed commitment to the party when it was in opposition and now in power.
