Accra, April 21, GNA - Management of Alhaji Dr Adamu Iddrissu Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility Arm of the Royal Bank, has presented a cheque for GH¢25,000.00 to two institutions in support of their operations in Accra.
The institutions are Graft Foundation- GH¢ 15,000.00 and the Autism Awareness, Care and Training Center-GH¢ 10,000.00.
Mr Faustell Kwashie Asogba Cofie, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, presenting the cheques separately to the institutions said the move was part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
He said last year the Foundation supported the Graft Foundation with equipment to assist them in their activities in saving lives.
He said the support was in line with the Foundation’s objectives in the area of healthcare delivery, adding that annually management came up with a budget to support the four core areas of their corporate responsibility activities.
Mr Osei Asafo-Adjei, the Managing Director, the Royal Bank, told the Ghana News Agency that annually the Foundation budgeted two million Ghana Cedis with was divided to all the three areas of interest.
“We provide support to the communities in the areas of sanitation, education and health,” he added.
Mrs Serwah Quaynor, the Founder, Autism Awareness, Care and Training Center, expressed gratitude to the Foundation for its continuous commitment and support over the years.
“Last year, we travelled to six regions to create awareness on autism,” she said.
Dr Kwame Abrokwaa-Yankyera, Founder, Graft Foundation, said the support would go a long way to help the Foundation put smiles of the faces of the kids and put them back into good social life.
He expressed the hope that the Bank would continue to support the activities of the Graft Foundation to continue to save more lives in the communities.
He appealed to the corporate world to come to the aid of the Foundation with logistics in its operations to alleviate the plight of the people.
He said this year; the Graft Foundation would undertake two projects of free cleft lip and palate repairs for needy people in the Eastern and Greater Accra from April 30 to May 7, 2017.
