Accra, April 17, GNA – Congregations at the Berean Assemblies of God were on Easter Sunday assured of blessings from Jesus Christ, whom they had believed in and had therefore become his disciples.
Speaking at the Assembly’s Easter Sunday service to mark the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, Pastor Larry Owusu Amoafo, who was the guest speaker of the Easter Convention told the members that Christ rose from the dead to give them a living hope.
Quoting from the first book of Peter chapter one verse three, Pastor Amoafo told the worshippers that anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ had been born to “living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”.
He said Christ’s resurrection brought power to the born again to overcome sin, explaining that anyone born of the spirit had special grace not to commit sin as the strength of sin was defeated when Christ rose from the grave on the third day after his crucifixion.
Pastor Amoafo noted that grace taught the believer to avoid all manner of wrong-doing which had the tendency of deteriorating the Christian’s faith and ability to follow the Lord Jesus Christ who Christians are looking forward to His coming.
Touching on the second coming of Jesus Christ, he said it was necessary because Christ would come to deliver the brethren from the tribulation of the rapture, which was set to come in the near future, where the faithful ones would join the Lord in His Kingdom.
Pastor Amoafo said Christ would return for those who would remain faithful in worship casting down all the demons and tormenting the brethren in present times.
He said the resurrection of Christ brought to Christians rejoicing moments, explaining that there can never be rejoicing without a victory and victory always comes from the Lord. “God takes delight in the upliftment of the Christian,” Pastor Amoafo added.
Clothed in their white dresses with white handkerchiefs, the worshippers celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which occurred over 2000 years ago.
