Juaso (Ash), Mar 13, GNA - Three persons were killed when a Buick Rendezvous 4x4 vehicle, carrying them, was involved in road crash at Banso near Obogu in the Asante-Akim South District in the early hours of Monday.
Five other passengers survived, but suffered deep cuts and broken bones
The deceased have been identified as Kwadwo Donkor, 78, Kwaku Anang, 58, and Joe Mensah, 48.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Andrew Anyani, the District Commander, confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and said it happened at about 0800 hours.
The vehicle was traveling from Ofoase to Kumasi, when all of a sudden, the back shaft got broken and the driver lost control of the steering wheel – somersaulting four times before landing in a ditch.
DSP Anyani said the injured were rushed to the Juaso District Hospital, where four of them, were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the Stewards Hospital morgue for autopsy.
