Good nutrition and regular exercise are important components of a healthy lifestyle and that is what TV presenter, Berla Mundi and Starr FM’s Giovanni Caleb demonstrated last Saturday when they led hundreds of people up the Aburi Mountains.
Dubbed, “Goodness on the hill”, the fitness session organised by Guinness Ghana Limited, aimed at raising awareness on the relevance of healthy living.
At about 7:00 am, the Peduase Lodge, which was the final destination for the hundreds of people who had climbed the mountains, saw people engage in interesting workouts accompanied by music.
The instructors took the participants through rigorous exercises with Berla Mundi and Giovanni setting the pace which encouraged many people to take part in the main event.
However, the event wasn’t just about exercising but an opportunity for some body builders to “flex their muscles” much to the admiration of the ladies present.
Other activities that marked the day were table tennis, skipping among others. Patrons were also were refreshed with bottles of Malta Guinness.
In a short address after the event, Mr. Kweku Sakyi-Cann, Marketing Director of Guinness Ghana Limited, said his company has always been committed to the well-being of Ghanaians, hence the decision to sensitise the public with the exercise.
According to him, the Malta Guinness brand has been symbolic with healthy living since its 30 years of existence on the Ghanaian market.
“This activity focuses on the celebration of the ‘can-do-attitude’ of Ghanaians which is expected to uplift their spirits by experiencing the goodness of Malta Guinness,” he stated.
In an interview with Showbiz on the sidelines of the event, Berla Mundi, who had earlier cut her birthday cake, said as an advocate of healthy living, she had always looked forward to such a day and was grateful her dreams had come to reality.
“For over 30 years, Malta Guinness has reflected healthy living with its ‘energy and vitality’ slogan and I’m not surprised they are have brought people together to preach the essence of healthy living,” she stated.
