Odotobri Rural Bank at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District in the Ashanti Region has been adjudged the “Fastest Growing Rural Bank Brand” and the overall “Top Emerging Rural Bank Brand in Ghana” at the Brands Excellence Award, held in Accra.
The citation accompanying the award states that, ‘the award testifies to the competence of the team behind the brand and confirms the team’s superiority in brand building through successful strategy execution.”
Event
The event, organised by Premier Brands Ghana Limited, brand building consultants, was aimed at honouring outstanding rural banks whose business performances reached the apex of branding in the country.
It was on the theme: “Rising competition; how can a rural bank provide a workable strategic plan through branding.”
Criteria
The criteria for selection of the banks for the various categories were based on the winning bank being a member of Ghana Club 100. It must also be in business for more than five years and have more than two branches. Their three-year-audited financial performances were also assessed.
It was also based on-the-field customer survey in the communities where the banks operate. The survey provided the accurate information on the banks customer service performance, customer relations, brand positioning, the bank's resilience to competition and perception of customers.
Motivation
The Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr Siaka Baba Ahmed, said the award would motivate staff to work harder in ensuing years. “ My management team and I will not rest on our laurels but will continue to work harder to achieve better results,” he stated.
