The Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II, has inspected work on the Odumase-Krobo-Oborpah road and the Kpong-Trom Junction road currently being rehabilitated in the Manya Krobo area.
The rehabilitation of the two roads, which were in a very deplorable state, was in response to an urgent appeal made by the Konor to President John Dramani Mahama during the Ngmayem Festival of the chiefs and people of the area last October.

 Quick response
In a quick response to the appeal, the two roads were awarded on contract and construction works began in December last year.
While Joshob Construction Limited is doing the work on the 23.3 kilometer Odumase-Krobo-Oborpah road at a cost of GHȻ44 million, First Sky Construction Limited is taking care of the 15.8 kilometer Kpong-Trom road with both projects being financed by the Government of Ghana.
Nene Sakite, who was accompanied by some of the chiefs and queens of the area for the inspection, expressed his appreciation to President Mahama for the prompt response to his appeal which had resulted  in the rehabilitation of the roadsÂ
He expressed satisfaction at the progress of work on the Odumase-Krobo-Oborpah-Oterkporlu road, which, according to the Project Manager, Mr Emmanuel Owusu Antwi, will be completed earlier than the stipulated period of 18 months.
Nene Sakite was, however, displeased with what he referred to as “slackly works† on the Kpong-Trom Junction road, and admonished the construction firm, First Sky, to improve its performance.
However, the Site Engineer of First Sky, Mr Chris Doke, later told newsmen that construction works were progressing as expected and that it would also be completed on schedule.
