On Friday, June 25th, 2021, Abiana won the Female Vocal Performance of the Year at 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
She was awarded for her performance on the song ‘Adun Lei’.
Abiana beat Efe Grace, Yaayaa, Adina, Cina Soul, and Enuonyam to win the coveted award.
Signed to 233 Records in 2019, Abiana released ‘Adun Lei’ in 2020 with a video directed by the renowned filmmaker, Yaw Skyface.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the awards ceremony, Abiana express her excitement over the award and promised to win more.
Asked if she was going to add on to the competition of which female artiste has the best vocal prowess, she quipped: “a new queen has been added to the female vocalists in Ghana.”
Abiana added that this is just the beginning of bigger things to happen to her career.
“I am going to win again,” she added.
Her journey dates a decade and over, having tried to get into a number of music reality TV shows. She would, in 2013 join the Afro Harmony Band as a backing vocalist and later in 2014, the Hy Skuul band as a lead singer before launching her music career as a solo artiste in 2020.
Abiana, who holds a BSc in Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) also loves to play the guitar and is signed to the 233 Record Label.
She has three (3) singles: ‘Adunlei’ released in October 2020, ‘Amen’ in December 2020, and her latest ‘Bo N??? Ni’ released in March 2021.
