The student body of the Middle Temple Inn of the United Kingdom has elected a young Ghanaian, Samuel Owusu Ansah as its Vice- President for the 2020/2021 Legal Academic year.
In a recently held election, Samuel Owusu Ansah overwhelmingly won the mandate against six (6) other candidates.
In his campaign speech, he reminded the over 500 aspiring Barristers of the Inn that, “just as this global pandemic is a challenge for our Legal institution of learning, it is not the first. Indeed, the Middle temple has gone through challenging times such as when its buildings were burnt down in 1678.”
He further noted that; “Our existence today is proof that the Middle Temple is more than its buildings. For it is our intellectual uniqueness, diversity and jurisprudential contributions the world over that has held us together since our beginnings in the 12th century”.
He further expressed his readiness to be part of those who provide the needed leadership in these trying times.
The Middle Temple Students Association is responsible for the improvement of student life at the Inn through planning and promotion of a range of activities that amuse, educate, and inspire members to achieve great things throughout the year. The officers and representatives are elected annually at the beginning of the Legal Year.
Samuel Owusu Ansah hails from Bekwai Abodom in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He is an LLB graduate from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Law from the University of Law in the United Kingdom.
