The First Sky Group on Sunday, January 3, 2021, organized its annual thanksgiving service.
Being the 18th of its kind, the service came off at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) to give praise to God for seeing the company through another successful business year.
It was themed “Behold, I do a new thing” with a scripture from Isaiah 43:19.
Executive Chairman of the Group, Eric Seddy Kutortse in an address at the service said “we are thankful to God that in the midst of the pandemic, not a single of our staff was sacked despite the difficulties. Management decided to share the little we had with our cherished and dedicated staff as their hard works have contributed to the growth of our companies”.
One of the exciting achievements the First Sky Group shared was that one of its beneficiaries – Serene Insurance which has been able to meet the GHS50 million capitalization requirement directed by the National Insurance Company even before the deadline despite the ravaging impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are resolved to see ourselves not just as a business but a tool in the hands of God for the upliftment of humanity and bringing hope where darkness prevails”, he said.
Support for Korle-Bu Dialysis Unit
The Group has also announced plans to finance the establishment of a Kidney Transplant Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital as part of its corporate social responsibilities.
The business firm has over the years supported the treatment of patients with Kidney failure at the medical centre.
Eric Seddy Kutortse said the group aims at intensifying its support towards the course.
He said the company has so far spent GHS 15 million on the initiative adding that “this has gone to support patients who would not have survived because they could not afford the cost of the daily dialysis”.
“The hope of the company is to establish a kidney transplant centre in Korle Bu, a first of its kind in West African sub-region to cater for patients with kidney failures whose only option now is to be flown to India or South Africa for such treatments”, he added.
Present at the thanksgiving service were Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-William, Chairman of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Rev. Paul Frimpong-Manso, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church and Apostle Prof. Kwadwo Opoku Onyinah, former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost.
The rest were Rev. Dr. Sylvanus Amegashiti, Dr. Archibald Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, Members of Parliament (MPs), Judges of the Superior Courts, Business Leaders, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and other notable personalities.
