The Western Regional Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party, NPP, Mr. Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, has debunked reports in sections of the media suggesting that Mr. Bissue, the party’s Western Regional Secretary is collapsing the party.
In a statement, Mr. Ganiyu described the report in the November 13th edition of the Daily Guide newspaper as untrue.
The publication is titled ‘Pressure piles on President to sack Charles Bissue; NPP activists say he’s collapsing the party”.
“I would want to state categorically that the content of the story is untrue”.
“Since assuming office as Regional Secretary of Western Region NPP, Mr. Charles Bissue has not only served the party diligently, but also worked hard to complement efforts to strengthen the party in the region”.
It would be recalled that Mr. Bissue stepped as aside in March this year as Secretary to the Inter Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining to allow for investigations into allegations of corruption following an investigative piece on illegal mining by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
“So it is surprising how he could have still be working in that office and interfere in the galamsey fight as purported in the story published by the Crusading Guide”, the statement added.
Mr. Bissue is reported to have been exonerated by the Police CID investigations, although the Office of the Special Prosecutor is yet to conclude its probe on him.
Mr. Ganiyu Mohammed said, “As a member and Executive of the NPP in the Western Region, I want to commend Mr. Charles Bissue, for his work as Regional Secretary, Western Region NPP since he assumed office”.
His work for the NPP and its grassroots has been exemplary, Mr. Ganiyu noted.
