The Tamale district court has granted bail to four out of 14 persons who were arrested during a joint military and police operation in the Tamale metropolis.
The 14 persons were charged for possession and use of narcotics on their premises for unlawful purposes.
However, the court granted bail to four of the suspects, including two students, a female suspect and an epileptic patient.
Ten remaining suspects have been remanded to reappear on October 17, 2019.
According to the Northern Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Otua Acheampong, the move is part of efforts by the Regional Police and Military commands to clamp down on drug peddlers, wee smokers and other criminals who are causing a feeling of insecurity in the Tamale Metropolis and its environs.
