The Nima District Police Command is on a manhunt for two persons who allegedly shot a man on Monday night on the Nima Kanda highway.
The victim, identified as Awudu Mohammed, 39, was shot in his thigh and chest.
In an interview with Citi News, the Nima District Commander, Supt Innocent Kweku Amemo said the victim is responding to treatment.
“What we are also doing is that we are putting measures in place to see how we can trace these guys and through informants, we want to see how to get them arrested for prosecution.”
The victim was a forex bureau operator who was on his way home when he was attacked.
The police said the unidentified assailants trailed the victim from his forex bureau at Ridge.
According to an eyewitness, the victim was using a Toyota Corolla vehicle and had been held in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the highway at about 7:30 pm when the assailants arrived on two unregistered motorbikes with their helmets hiding their faces and shot at the victim through the glass.
They reportedly pulled him out and fired at him multiple times before fleeing the scene.
