The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, Overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, has toured the Glofert Fertilizer Blending Plant at Asuboi in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region.
The plant was commissioned by Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on August 15, as part of government’s “One District, One Factory” initiative.
The Okyenhene was welcomed on his historic visit by the Vice President of Glofert Limited, Francis Dei, who emphasised the company’s commitment to supporting farmers and the Planting for Food and Jobs programme.
“This factory is just two years old. It’s a wholly Ghanaian-owned factory, which is into tailor-made fertiliser products for our farmers and also to support the government’s PFJ programme,” he said
The Fertilizer plant can produce 120 metric tonnes of fertiliser per hour, and 840,000 metric tonnes of fertiliser annually,
Glofert is a wholly-owned Ghanaian Company focussing on improving crop production and ensuring food security.
The company produces 4 types of fertilisers – the Builder sulphate of Ammonia; SUPER Nokia 23:10:5; POWER urea 46%N; and TRIPPLE ACTION Npk 15:15:15.
The company’s purpose is “growing growth” by creating value, and improving lives through the sustainable and environmentally friendly provision of fertilisers across the continent of Africa.
