The newly appointed Western North Regional Minister, Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu, has accused his Deputy, Alex Tetteh of scheming to get him sacked by the President.
In a letter sighted by Citi News, addressed to the Minister for Local Government and Rural development, the Minister listed six reasons including recruitment of drivers without consulting him, alleged connivance with some chiefs in the area to change project sites, among others to support his claim.
“Following our discussion, a couple of weeks ago, I write to bring to your attention certain activities embarked upon and behaviours put up by the Honourable Deputy Regional Minister for the newly created Western North Region. Hon Alex D. Tettey, which seems to be a well orchestrated strategy to undermine my authority as the Honourable Regional Minister for the same region.”
“A reasonable interpretation of the events narrated above can only conclude that the Deputy Regional Minister has strategically planned to undermine me the Regional Minister, make me look bad, inefficient, ineffective, incompetent and unpopular in the eyes of the Chiefs and the people of the Western Region and most importantly his excellency the President and get me sacked so that he can become the Regional Minister. I feel obliged to bring this to your attention for the necessary action,” the letter said.
The two were appointed in February by the President as part of Minsters for the newly created regions.
