Corporate organizations and individuals continue to offer support to Citi FM ahead of the station’s Help A Christmas Child initiative.
The latest is the 1998-year group of the Accra Academy Old Boys’ Association has donated assorted food items to support this year’s project.
The old boys fondly known as ‘Bleoobii’ are supporting ‘Help a Christmas Child’ as parts of activities lined up to mark 20 years since after leaving their alma mater.
‘Help A Christmas Child’ is an annual event that comes under Citi Foundation, which is the corporate social responsibility arm of the station, and seeks to support deprived communities every Boxing Day.
This year, the station will be visiting children at Samsam Odumase on December 26.
On Tuesday, the group, led by its President Mohammed Rufai, visited the premises of the station at Adabraka with bags of rice, boxes of noodles and other items.
He said the donation is to help the needy children experience the joy that comes with the Christmas festivities.
“As part of our 20th anniversary, we had plans to donate to an orphanage but along the line, we heard Citi FM organizing this project and so we decided that instead of going out there to give to people who might not benefit directly we brought it here because we know you have the vehicle to let these items get to the people in need.”
“This is actually our first time but subsequently we are looking forward to having such more events with Citi FM”, he added.

For several years, the station has put smiles on the faces of residents of deprived communities in the country with a particular focus on children.
