The former President and founder of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings, was right when he stated at the just ended NDC National Delegates’ Congress that “The old days can only happen when we cultivate the habit of listening to ourselves” in reference to the NDC fraternity.
In fact, the NDC should listen to themselves.
The NDC must apologize to Ghanaians for deceiving us into believing that times are hard.
Secondly, they need to tell us where they expect their flagbearer aspirants to raise Ghc420, 000.
For the past two months, the NDC have been deceiving Ghanaians into believing that, the Akufo-Addo government was making life unbearable, forgetting that they are the same culprits who took us to IMF as well as approving overpriced contracts. They invested millions of monies in projects we can’t trace (SADA, GYEEDA ETC).
In fact, Ghanaians should continue to support the Akufo-Addo government and note that indeed 2019 will be a year of massive industrialization; provision of jobs and all of our flagship initiatives will be implemented.
With the TIN being enforced, the TAX net is going to be widened and the citizenry will be given the opportunity to contribute towards the development of our great nation.
Contrary to the blatant lies spewed by the General Secretary of the opposition NDC who sought to suggest that the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, charged GHC 500,000.00 in 2014 ahead of the 2016 general elections, it is indeed on record that the NPP’s filing fees from the year 2007 – 2014 combined, does not even sum up to Ghc 400,000.00 or half of it.
The following represents a breakdown of the NPP Flagbearership filing fees from 2007 – 2014;
2007- GHC 25,000.00 towards the 2008 elections
2010- GHC 25,000.00 towards the 2012 elections
2014- GHC 85,000.00 towards the 2016 elections.
In fact, Ghanaians should treat the NDC with the contempt they deserve, and continue to support the Akufo-Addo led Government, and also note that indeed, 2019 will be a year of massive industrialization, infrastructural development, creation of sustainable jobs and a steady fulfilment of all flagship programs that have been promised.
