After a week, the water shortage that hit residents living in Adabraka, a suburb of Accra still persists. The situation has affected hundreds of residents; many of whom have resorted to the use of water drawn from wells and sachet water for domestic purposes.
The water shortage is on the verge of halting a number of business activities. It has also affected productivity as most workers could not get to their work-place on time.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Water Company Limited says it is servicing all its valves that supplies water within the Adabraka enclave to check the problem.
The GWCL suspects this could be the cause of the water shortage in the area. Communication Manager, Stanley Martey, says they are working around the clock to restore water to the community soon.
