The Brong Ahafo Branch of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of Mr Pius Agyemang, a journalist who died in a fatal road crash at Akwatiakrom near Nsuta on the Sunyani-Kumasi Highway.
Mr Agyemang was travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi with 15 other passengers on board a Ford mini bus with registration number AS 7257-15 on Monday dawn when their bus collided head-on with a cargo truck with registration GR 2624-14.
The GJA in the region conveyed their condolence in a press statement signed by the Regional Secretary, Dennis Peprah.
“The GJA received the information about the sudden demise of Mr Agyemang, who was a staff of Shalom Radio, a Berekum-based FM station, and a stringer of the Ghana News Agency (GNA), with utmost shock”.
The statement, therefore, assured the deceased’s family of the association’s support towards the burial and funeral rites of their departed colleague.
The Association, however, appealed to non-members to register with the association for a united front.
Pius Agyemang among the 12 persons who were confirmed dead in the crash Akwatiakrom, the same spot popular Ghanaian hiplife musician, Ebony died at earlier this year.
