Karpowership Ghana Limited has provided a fully furnished ultra-modern computer laboratory for Manhean Anglican JHS in Tema.
The laboratory comprises of 31 complete computer sets, 31 desks, among other items.
Prior to this intervention the school had no computers and students had to be taken to near-by schools for practical ICT lessons.
Speaking at the inauguration of the computer lab, Volkan Buyukbicer, Country Manager of Karpowership Ghana, said “this donation is fully aligned with Karpowership’s Corporate Social Responsibility standpoint to support education and raise literacy levels in communities which we are operating ”.
“The speedy growth in technology has made acquiring knowledge in the sector very necessary in our day to day lives,” he said.
“It has become very important for every individual to be up-to-date in the use of computers, and this is seen in the inclusion of ICT in the curricula of every school. That is why we embraced the opportunity to attend to this important need of Manhean Anglican JHS,” he added.
Mrs. Marian Cobblah, Headmistress of Manhean Anglican JHS expressed gratitude for Karpowership’s continuous support.
“This donation will boost students’ concentration in class and enhance teachers’ efficiency in the teaching of ICT. We are very delighted to have benefitted from this initiative,” she said.
Isaac Ashai Odamtten, the Tema Metropolitan Executive, also lauded Karpowership for supporting education in the Tema Manhean community and envisaged a long-term relationship with the company.
“The record Karpowership has set in adopting this computer lab is going to have far reaching benefits,” he said.
“You have demonstrated strongly that there is power in friendship and I want this friendship to grow into partnership. The Tema Metropolitan Assembly assures you of a lasting support so together we can brighten the Tema Metropolitan Education system,” he added.
This donation is one of the many CSR activities Karpowership Ghana Co. Ltd has carried out since 2015 .
