Wisconsin International University College (WIUC) has conferred degrees on 1,864 graduates, marking a significant milestone during its 25th-anniversary celebrations.
The celebration, held under the theme ‘WIUC’s Silver Jubilee: Celebrating 25 Years of Impactful Education’, expressed confidence in a future built on the foundations of integrity, service and innovation.
The graduating class comprises 1,376 students from the Accra Campus and 488 from the Kumasi Campus. The body of graduates includes 23 diploma students, 1,673 undergraduate students and 168 post-graduate degree students.

The undergraduate class was composed of 1,287 females and 386 males, with 137 achieving First Class Honours, 643 securing Second Class Upper, 610 attaining Second Class Lower, 232 graduating with Third Class and 51 receiving a Pass. The postgraduate group consists of 55 females and 113 males.
The President of WIUC, Dr. Lawrence Kannae, in his address, outlined a year of profound achievement and strategic expansion initiatives for the institution.
He reaffirmed the university’s dedication to fostering industry-ready graduates, noting the deepening of partnerships with professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
He also highlighted the strengthening of the university’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub, designed to nurture job creators rather than just job seekers.
To the Class of 2025, Dr. Kannae urged them to step into a future shaped by innovation but anchored in human values.
“The AI revolution promises opportunities; but it is wisdom, empathy and resilience that will distinguish you as leaders,” he stated.
He encouraged the graduates to carry the Wisconsin badge with pride as ambassadors of excellence, assured that their university family stands behind them.
Awards and achievements
The ceremony also served as a platform to celebrate specific institutional achievements as six students from the School of Communication Studies were recognised as recipients of the 2024 FCF Scholarship, an initiative of the Canada-based PR Trust that covers tuition for four semesters and promotes social responsibility in communication.
The valedictory award went to Ann Awini Amadu, a young female from the Upper East Region of Ghana. Other notable awardees include Benjamin Boahen, Best Graduating Student from the Kumasi Campus, and Peter Takyi Ohemeng, Best Postgraduate Student.
The Achievers Club of the Business School placed second in a Business Challenge award organised by the Chartered Institute of Business.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences saw its first batch of Level 400 Education students complete their off-campus teaching practice, with a second batch currently underway. The faculty also signed a collaborative MoU with the Sustainable Development Alliance to promote research and environmental education.
International partnerships
On the international front, WIUC has fostered a significant collaboration with the University of Iringa in Tanzania. In respect of this, a delegation from Tanzania visited in March 2025, leading to the formation of a committee to draft a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Key areas of agreement include WIUC’s support for establishing a school of nursing at the University of Iringa and revamping its Information Technology (IT) programme, alongside plans for student exchanges and joint research.
Further internationalisation efforts include an earmarked ERASMUS , the European Union (EU) scholarship initiative, partnership with the School of Computing and Technology for the 2025/2026 academic year.
3D Anatomy Lab
A significant technological advancement for the university was the acquisition of a state-of-the-art 3D Anatomy Table for the School of Nursing and Midwifery. This digital tool allows students to explore life-sized 3D human models, perform virtual dissections and engage in clinical simulations, positioning WIUC among the most technologically advanced nursing schools in the region.
