The Principal of Lycée Français International Jacques Prévert d’Accra, popularly known as the French School, Catherine Dauer, has called on parents to endeavour to ensure their children get the needed relevant education that will equip them to excel in the ever-changing world.
Ms. Dauer advocated for parents to place a premium on the high-quality education for their children in an educational system which prepares them adequately for numerous opportunities around the world.
She made the call on Saturday, February 17, 2024, when Management of Lycée Français International Jacques Prévert d’Accra held this year’s edition of its annual Open Day event at the school’s premises located in East Legon, near GT Bank and Miklin Hotel.
“We are excited to be celebrating our 60th anniversary this year looking at the school’s journey from just twenty students when it was founded, to a current population of more than 700 students in addition to the several successes achieved by the school both locally and internationally. We remain committed to providing a conducive learning environment and giving our students high-quality education, supported by a Parents’ Association that is very active and equally committed to the school,” she added.
This year’s highly patronised Open Day saw the school authorities hosting members of the general public and giving them a deeper insight into the school’s structure and other processes which give the students academic excellence through a personalized pathway.
They were also taken on a special guided tour of the school’s facilities in addition to interaction sessions with various trained and experienced teachers of the school and other professional staff on a wide range of subject areas, including academics and well-being of the students.
Lycée Français International Jacques Prévert d’Accra is the only French-accredited international school in Ghana and has a multi-cultural student population and environment which aims to produce future citizens of the world.
The school offers a complete programme from nursery to the final year of high school and assists students to get excellent results in French exams and excellence in the preparation of French and English language certificates, leading to further studies in the best French and international schools and universities.
