At the Third Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament, the House approved by resolution, new Standing Orders.
The revised Standing Orders reconstituted the committees of the House by revising the membership and mandate of some Committees, established new committees and re-designated some of the committees established under the old Standing Orders.
In compliance with the Constitution and to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament, the Committee met and composed the committees of the House in accordance with the provisions of the new Standing Orders of the House.
The Committee, in composing the committees, was guided by article 103 (4) of the 1992 Constitution which provides that every Member of Parliament shall be a member of at least one of the standing committees.
