Authorities at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have revised the second semester examinations timetable following the suspension of the strike by the school’s lecturers.
A special meeting was held by the Executive Committee of the University on Monday, August 23 to agree on the new dates for the examinations.
The school had indefinitely suspended the end-of-semester examinations, which were originally scheduled to be held from Monday, August 9 to Friday, August 20.
The suspension of the exams was as a result of the nationwide strike by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). But last week, leadership of UTAG following negotiations with the National Labour Commisssion (NLC) agreed to a roadmap, which includes the suspension of its industrial action.
In a general notice on Monday, Secretary to KNUST’s Executive Committee Margaret Dzisi announced that the revision week will be from Wednesday, August 25 to Tuesday, August 31.
The exams will, therefore, begin from Wednesday, September 1 to Friday, September 17.
Students have been advised to visit the various notice boards at their Departments, Faculties and Colleges for their respective timetables.
“We entreat students and staff of the University to take note of the arrangements and prepare accordingly.”
