Christian Atsu is canvassing support for Mohammed Kudus and other youngsters currently playing important roles in the Black Stars.
Atsu says he felt tremendous support from Ghanaians when he joined the senior national team aged 20, and it helped him become a key player.
“Ghanaians gave me the support and everything a country needed to give to a player. Ghanaians gave 100%,” Atsu said in an interview with 3Sports.
“Now for Kudus and the other younger ones, they need to support them. It is not easy to be consistent but they must give all the support. I know Ghana is building a team now, it takes time and it is not easy but they need to be patient with them.”
Atsu has been a part of the Black Stars for nine years and has a lot of experience. He has played at one World Cup and several Africa Cup of Nations tournaments while making a final appearance once in 2015.
“My advice to the young players is that they don’t have many chances in the Black Stars. A lot of people are fighting for positions so when you have your chance, just take it, this is football and it is about chance.
Everyone knows how to play football. Don’t tell yourself you are young because Mbappe and Haaland are young but are playing at top level,” he added.
The winger has scored nine goals in 65 games since his debut in 2012.
