GMB 2021 Teiya, who represents the Northern Region, is so passionate about giving that she wants to give people power over their future. By helping them identify and nurture their talents.
Abubakari Hiba, known on stage as Teiya, has expressed concern about how the youth in her community are down living their potential. Due to the flamboyancy of having white-collar jobs. According to her, this worrisome attitude is a blockage to their immense contribution to their communities and society.
The 21-year- old from Tamale, who has spent most of her life in the town, would leverage the GMB platform to exert change. And solve the high rate of unemployed youth in the community. Teiya chooses Ghana’s Most Beautiful Platform because it is a reputable and respected platform. That goes beyond the beauty to impact change through the enviable crown.
According to Teiya, “I am here to work on a project. GMB being a prestigious pageant, and my project is helping people build on their talents. One of the contestants, I can remember, said she doesn’t have a talent. This is because it’s not recognized. I want to help them find a purpose.”
“At my place, we look for white-collar jobs. You see people graduating tertiary, and they are in the house. I want them to make good use of what God has given them,” She continued.
Teiya is currently studying nursing at the University of Development Studies in Tamale. She aims to be an entrepreneur and a lecturer shortly.
According to Teiya, should she win the crown, she would pursue her project fully. But that doesn’t mean she would despair if she fails to grab the crown. “We were a lot to audition, and me being privileged to be elected to represent the region. I think I can still do something for the region and Ghana at large. So I will try and work within my power what I can give back to the community.”
