Kidi preceded the launch of his second album, Golden Boy, with a private listening at the Rock City Hotel in Kwahu on Tuesday, the 22nd of June. This was followed by an official announcement on his Instagram page yesterday.
A glamour night of the first-ever public performances of selected tracks from the 14 singles featured on the album. Including the people’s favourite ‘Touch it’. The private listening was attended by the music industry gurus, colleagues, the media, friends and family. Some fans were also present at the private event to interact and watch their idol perform.
Commenting on the significance of the choice of venue for the album listening, Kidi told Joy Prime that he wanted a change of scenery. Kidi said, “Apart from my concert that I did here, I have not really done anything here. So, I decided that listen; Accra has me 24/7. 365 times a year.”
He also spoke about connecting with his roots as part of a new step in his career. “I am like charlie, this one time, let me come to my hometown. And launch my album here because it is symbolic to me. This is where I come from, so I am just glad I was able to come here,” he continued.
Golden Boy Album is a 14 track with features from Joey B, Kuami Eugene and Patoranking.
