Another bullion van has been attacked by armed robbers at Gomoa Okyereko on the Kasoa–Winneba road Thursday June 17.
The van with registration No. GN 6956- 17 had on board by No. 39089 G/Sgt. Frank Agyemang and Martinson Odei Gyebi driven by Alfred Aidoo.
The occupants according to the Police escaped unhurt.
The Police reported that on “17/06/2021 at 1900 hours an extract of occurrence was received from Winneba police station to the effect that a Bullion Van with registration No. GN 6956- 17 on board by No. 39089 G/Sgt. Frank Agyemang and Martinson Odei Gyebi.
“Driven by Alfred Aidoo on specie duties from Zenith Odorkor branch with cash amount of GHc 550,000.00 were short by an unknown person(s) at a section of the road between Okyereko and Dominase highway but the occupants escapes unhurt.
“Winneba Divisional Police provided an escort team to the Bullion Van that brought them back to Accra. Case is under investigation.”
This comes after the killing of a police officer and a by-stander in an attack on a bullion van at Adedenkpo near Jamestown in the Greater Accra Region last Monday.
The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries and still on admission at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.
