The Government of Ghana has denied allegations of cloning phone of #FixtheCountry convener.
A statement isgned by Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on Sunday May 9 said the allegation “has no basis to and did not tamper with the phones of the conveners.”
This comes after a convener of the #FixtheCountry campaign, Oliver Barker-Vormanor, claimed that operatives of the Ministry of National Security forced conveners into a meeting with Cabinet and in the process confiscated and tampered with their phones.
But the government’s statement said “The allegation that they were coerced into a meeting is therefore untrue,”
The Ministry noted further that “in instances where the Agencies of the Ministry have need to investigate the electronic devices of a person, legal methods such as a proper court warrant are employed.”
