President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named former Deputy Finance Minister Charles Adu-Boahen as a Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance.
Mr Adu-Boahen was one of three Deputy Ministers of Minister of Finance Kenneth Ofori-Atta in the first term of President Akufo-Addo.
He was named as the President’s Representative at the Ministry of Finance during the transition period of the government’s first and second term.
He held the position longer as the Finance Minister-designate, Ken Ofori-Atta, was taken ill and flown to the United States as a result of post-Covid complications.
Mr Ofori-Atta has since been vetted and approved as the Minister of Finance.
In a letter to the Speaker of Parliament on Wednesday, April 21, President Akufo-Addo named the son of the New Patriotic Party’s first presidential candidate, the late Professor Albert Adu-Boahen, as a Minister of State.
