The Eastern Region Minister, Seth Acheampong, has promised an increased infrastructural development for the Krobo enclave.
He made the promise on Friday, April 9 when he paid a courtesy call on the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs and Konor of the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Sakite, at Odumase in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region.
Nene Sakite received the regional minister and his entourage to his palace.
He requested that the deplorable Oterphorlu and Okwenya bridge be fixed whiles the stalled Oborpah E block be completed to grant access to students and ease congestion faced in SHS in the enclave .
“We have a number of problems here – the deplorable Otorpholu and Okwenya bridge and roads are great worry. I hope work would commence soon. The E-block at Oborpah must be completed as well.”
He promised working towards peace and development for the Region.
“We would work together to deliver peace for the [Eastern] Region.”
The regional minister, Seth Acheampong, sought the Konor’s experience and support to resolve the pockets of chieftaincy disputes in the region.
“Use your experience to offer best leadership in the traditional area and the chieftaincy institution to settle chieftaincy disputes in the Region for peace to reign.”
Mr Acheampong assured that projects have been earmarked for increased in infrastructural development.
“Infrastructural deficit would be met. A number of projects have been given on contract especially on roads. You will see dual carriage from Accra through Akuse to Odumase and holistic development.
“The Eastern Regional Highway Authority has given out contract for work to commence on the Oterpholu bridge late March 2021.”
