Ghana Premier League giant Kumasi Asante Kotoko have appointed former Black Stars trainer Mariano Barreto as their new head coach.
The Portuguese International coach comes in as the third coach for Asante Kotoko this season after Abdulai Gazale and Maxwell Konadu.
The 69-year old’s task will be to guide Asante Kotoko to the Ghana Premier League as they currently lie 4th with 27 points and an outstanding game.
Barreto in 2004 guided Ghana’s U-23 team to the Olympics games in Athens and went ahead to handle the Black Stars before later joining the Ethiopian national team.
