The Holy Bible in Psalm 105: 15 says, “Do not touch my anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm.” The same is said in 1 Chronicles 16:22. “Do not touch my anointed ones, and do my prophets no harm”.
These two quotations coupled with the fact that I have three Diploma Certificates in Bible Studies, always put fear in me when I made negative comments about men of God.
Therefore, this article does not intend to denigrate men of God or touch the ‘anointed man of God’ but just to enlighten who would be victims of this man of God.
Because the situation where some men of God behave as if they are super-human beings who give lives, wealth and other earthly things is strange and unbiblical.
These threats put fear in the innocent congregation who sometimes obey whatever these men of God would say, to the extent that it sometimes leads to loss of lives and property.
The Founder and General Overseer of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church, Rev Dr. Anthony Kwadwo Boakye is reported to have cautioned his congregation he will revoke other breakthroughs of such persons who got these breakthroughs while fellowshipping in his church but had stop fellowshipping with the church after the breakthrough.
Rev Kwadwo Boakye also threatened to collapse the marriage of members who leave his church after receiving a breakthrough.
The man of God in a shocking announcement during a church service cautioned to take back other breakthroughs of such members, including their wealth and children.
”If you make money, marry and give birth under my leadership but leave the church, I will take back the blessings and even collapse the marriage”.
Folks, I listened and watched the 4:17 seconds video and I was astonished by his threats that ”where else do you find church members marrying every time?, stressing that, ”some churches witnessed only one marriage the whole year but this church had about 300 marriages’.
Rev Boakye asked members who were present during the service to inform former church members who came to his church poor or with nothing, but left after making wealth, building big shops, marrying, and giving birth, he will definitely take back everything.
”Listen well to this announcement, all those who came to church while poor and have made money but have left the church within the last one year, I will take back all their big shops and cars. Tell them, I will take everything back”.
He did not state the means by which he would take them back, either in the spiritual realm or in the physical realm, he only said I will take them back. Very strange, isn’t it?
Folks, as a holder of three Diploma Certificates in the Bible Studies, my mandate was to read the Bible thoroughly and understand and I did exactly that. Even though I could not read the entire Genesis to Revelation, at least, I have read about 80% of the Bible.
I have never come across a verse or a quotation in the Bible where a prophet or a disciple in the Bible did something for someone and this disciple or prophet threatened to take it back.
Does that mean some of these men of God do not read the Bible well? Or they read but they do not understand? Because Matthew 10:8 read: “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay”, therefore, who are you to issue a threat to a fellow human being that he gained his or her wealth through you and as such you would take back that wealth because that person has stopped fellowshipping with your church?. It does not make sense and here, let me borrow Actor Kwadwo Nkansah’s locally manufactured English phrase, “I can’t think far, I can’t think madness”.
Again, Job 1:21 says ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord’. Therefore, it is only God who can take life and give life, unless I don’t understand the quotation above.
What I know in the Bible is Jesus Christ wants an appreciation and thanks given but that does not mean men of God should take advantage to extort and put fear and panic in the congregation.
Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy
The assertions that Jesus Christ wants to be appreciated was espoused in Luke 17:11-19.
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
The verse 17 is clear that Jesus wants to be appreciated because asked the one where the nine were. This is biblical and not a threat as Rev Boakye did to his congregations. So, if men of God or a man of God is reminding the congregation to show appreciation toward the work of God for what God had done for them, it is in right direction because in Malachi 3:10 the Bible says “bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”.
So, how can a man of God threaten to take back what he claimed a member gained through him? What about if the person gained the wealth through the tithe paid to the church?
Such comments are a disgrace to Christianity and I leave us all to read the entire Matthew Chapter 24 which will enable us determine which man of God he is because such utterances are exactly what the Bible spoke about in the entire Chapter.
