Players and officials of Kotoko test positive for Covid-19 ahead of Hilal tie
Ghana’s sole representative in the ongoing CAF Champions League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have had eleven members of their team testing positive for Covid-19 ahead of their game against Al Hilal.
The affected person’s include seven players and four officials who travelled with the team to Sudan for the clash against Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League.
As part of CAF’s regulations, clubs are mandated to present Covid-19 test results of their players and officials 48hours to a game.
Kotoko are however disputing the outcome of the test in their lastest press release.

“Four officials and seven players are allerged to have tested positive for covid after the results of the test came in.
“The Covid results was delivered by known Officials of Al Hilal but suspiciously enough , the Positive results clearly looks different from the Negative results.
“The team has made an official complaint to the match commissioner as the covid results have clearly been tampered with.
“The team is however at the Stadium to present a team” they stated.
The game is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, January 6 afternoon at the Hilal Sports Stadium in Omdurman.
