Ningo: Mahama blasts NPP for failing fishing sector, outdoors Sam George as PC
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration of destroying the fishing industry.
Mr Mahama on the second day of his campaign of the greater Accra region in the Ningo Prampram constituency says the next NDC Administration has a daunting task of revitalizing the sector to be more attractive to fisher folks.
His first port of call was the palace of the Ningo Traditional Council where he interacted with the chiefs .
The chiefs called for a peaceful election and commitment from the NDC and NPP.
His entourage there after moved to the Old Ningo township where he interacted with the fisher folks and women.
After signing autographs, John Mahama and the parliamentary candidate donated over 500 helmets to the okada drivers whom he advised to be cautious in the expectations of legalizing their business.
Moments after, John Mahama moved to a durbar hosted by the chief fisherman of Prampram who showered praises on him asking him for an intervention in the ills ongoing in the fishing industry.
Taking a swipe at the NPP for its recent sod cuttings, John Mahama together with the parliamentary Candidate Samuel Nartey George donated hundreds of sowing machines and hair dryers as a Commitment to the NDCs free technical training to be introduced if the NDC comes to power.
He later introduced Sam George to the teaming supporters asking them to continue their unflinching support to the NDC.
