Bawumia gives full support to his superior – Osafo-Maafo

Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo-Maafo, has revealed that the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has provided total support to ensuring that the government of resident Nana Addo Danwa Akufo-Addo succeeds.

Mr Osafo-Maafo said when he was the Finance Minister during the Kufuor administration, he worked with Dr Bawumia who was then the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana and can therefore, attest to his competence, credibility and work ethics.

He made this known at the government’s Town Hall Meeting at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra on Tuesday, August 18.

The Senior Minister said “ I have had the privilege of working with this young man [Dr Bawumia] when he was at Bank of Ghana  and I was the Minister for Finance.

“If there is any man who pays attention to details it is Bawumia. If there is any man who provides unalloyed support to his superior, it is Bawumia. If one man who has contributed positively to the performance of this current government, in my view it is Bawumia.

“He has served and continues to serve as the chairman of economic management team.”

During the event, Dr Bawumia revealed that since 2017, the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has initiated 17,334 infrastructural projects in this country.

“Of these, we have completed 8,746 and there is 8,588 ongoing,” Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said.

He further revealed that the Akufo-Addo administration is adopting a two-way approach towards infrastructural development in the country.

This approach makes it possible to cover all persons in the country under the project.
