Despite a further reduction in Ghana’s Covid-19 active cases, eight lives have, however, become the latest casualties to the virus.
This was captured in the latest case count released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Friday, August 14.
The active cases went from 1,906 to 1,839.
This was significantly due to the total number of recoveries-cum-discharges recorded.
That number has moved up to 39,993 currently.
But the deaths rose from 223 to 231.
With a total of 216 new cases recorded, the country’s total cumulative cases reached 42,063, from Thursday, March 12, 2020 when the first two index cases were confirmed.
Seventeen patients are in severe conditions while six are in critical conditions with four said to be on ventilators.
