Security at the various banks in the country has been beefed because of the inability to identify those who put on nose masks and face shield to the banking halls.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Association of Bankers (GAB), John Awuah, who made the revelation, explained that even though these security measures are not visible to the general public, a lot is being done behind the scenes to ensure adequate protection.
Wearing of nose masks in public places has become mandatory but very difficult to identify people, even those who are close associates.
This situation calls for strict security measures at various public places such as banks.
Speaking on Onua TV’s COVID-19 NKOMO hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa and Adwoa Konadu-Yiadom, Mr. Awuah explained that security situations at the banking halls have changed because of coronavirus.
“You don’t see them physically but a lot are happening underground. Things have changed but we can’t give these security measures out,” he said on Friday, August 14.
Covid-19 job loss
The Deputy CEO of GAB said the no bank in Ghana has dismissed a worker or workers because of the impact of the coronavirus.
He explained that what GAB did was to direct every bank to limit the number of workers by running a shift system and that does not mean workers have been sacked.
“At first, we had so many people at the banking halls but now we have fewer workers but they are all part of the precaution of Covid-19,” he explained.
