Just a day after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed satisfaction with the active cases of Covid-19 in Ghana, informing his decision to trigger Phase Two of the easing of restrictions, the number has risen.
From 3,307, the active coronavirus cases have risen to 3,655, according to the latest update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Despite the deaths standing at 168, the active cases rose as a result of a relatively slower rate of recovery.
The recoveries-cum-discharges are currently at 29,801.
The latest update by the Service puts the total cumulative cases at 33,624.
These were recorded after 655 new cases were confirmed on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
So far, 24 persons are in “severe” conditions and eight are in critical conditions with four on ventilators.
