The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sued the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) in a latest case, challenging the Commission’s decision to register Senior High School students who are currently on campus.
The NDC, in an interlocutory injunction filed Friday, June 10, prayed the High Court to order the EC to stop the exercise, which started Friday and expected to continue on Saturday.
Member of the NDC communication team, Brogya Genfi, had earlier told Johnnie Hughes on 3FM‘s Community Connect that the party was going to stop the exercise.
Even though he was not quite clear on what means they were going to use to stop the exercise, he probably could have been giving a hint that the party was heading to the High Court.
The NDC argued that the EC should be stopped from registering students on campuses, which have not been gazetted as registering centres in accordance with CI 91 as amended by CI 126.
