The death is reported of consultant surgeon, Dr Rchard Kisser.
Until his untimely death, Dr Kisser was practising at The Trust Hospital in Accra.
He had been taken ill for Covid-19 and was receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
But he passed on Thursday, July 2.
The Hospital confirmed the sad incident on Friday.
Since the outbreak of coronavirus in Ghana, it has claimed 117 lives, among whom are health workers.
The first major casualty in the health fraternity was Dr Jacob Plange-Rhule, who was the Rector of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. He died on Friday, April 10.
It is unclear whether Dr Kisser contracted the disease in the line of duty.
