Two persons, an officer at the Tamale Central Prisons and a food vendor also in Tamale, the Northern regional capital, have tested positive for COVID-19.
The Northern regional director of health service Dr. John Eleeza, who disclosed this to the media said both patients are undergoing treatment.
He revealed both cases are from the random test being conducted in the region.
He said all patients are asymptomatic.
Dr. Eleeza said the boyfriend of the food vendor whom she travelled to visit in Saboba has also been quarantined while the prisons officer who travelled to Accra is also undergoing treatment in Accra.
He admonished the general public to respect the protocols rolled out by the Ghana Health Service.
