Director of Communications at the Jubilee House Eugene Arhin has rubbished reports of the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, being rushed to hospital last Wednesday.
A video has been making rounds on social media and said to have captured the president at Nyaho Clinic in Accra for medical attention.
“For the avoidance of doubt, no such thing happened,” Mr Arhin wrote on his Facebook page on Friday, November 8.
He explained that President Akufo-Addo was indeed at the Nyaho Clinic but was there to visit a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Tommy Amematekpor, who was on admission at the hospital.
Mr Arhin said the president made a stopover after he had commissioned the Ga East District Hospital, in Kwabenya, en route to the seat of government.
“The President, at the moment, is in Niamey, capital of Niger, attending the ECOWAS Extraordinary Session on Guinea Bissau.”
Mr Arhin later posted a video of President Akufo-Addo’s arrival in Niamey.
