Elections have been held for the chairmanship positions of the 10 Regional Football Associations (RFAs) across the country.
The elections follow a roadmap by the Normalisation Committee to re-structure the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
It was scheduled to be held one clear week before the presidential elections, which will, in turn, be preceded by the Executive Council elections – precisely on Thursday, October 24.
Before the regional chairmanship elections, two candidates were disqualified.
Alhaji Fuseini Mahama was disqualified from contesting the Western Regional FA elections while Roy Arthur was disqualified from contesting the Central Region polls.
On Friday, October 18 when the elections were held, the following emerged winners for their respective regions:
Central Region – Robert Duncan
Western Region – Simon Ehomah
Volta Region – Daniel Agbogah
Greater Accra Region – Samuel Aboabire
Ashanti Region – Paris Osei Tutu Agyemang
Upper East Region – Salifu Zida
Upper West Region – Yahaya Sadugu
Northern Region – Alhaji Abu Alhassan
Brong Ahafo Region – Ralph Gyambra
Eastern Region – Linford Asamoah
